Jude Travel Park - Aidan Mitchelmore

Above is a print screen of a FEMA camp found on google maps. The camp on the left was a pre-existing trailer park known as Jude Travel Park. After hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, this camp housed trailers. As seen in the image, the FEMA trailers are organized in an efficient system, building off the existing infrastructure. The camp on the right appears to have been an empty lot and does not register as a FEMA camp on google maps.

It is unknown weather either of these camps was operated by FEMA, or even if they still exist. What we can learn from this image is that FEMA trailers (Springdale models) were used as an emergency housing unit after the hurricane.

In addition to the two trailer park sites, trailers can be seen being used, parked on lawns of houses destroyed by Katrina.
